Describe the purpose of the image succinctly. Avoid “image of…”. Omit superfluous details and encode critical info.

Do

• “Search button with magnifying glass icon” (if non-textual and critical)
• “Quarterly revenue chart, revenue up 12% from Q3 to Q4”

Don’t

• “Decorative background” — use empty alt: alt="" and role="presentation" if needed
• Duplicate nearby captions
